I was surfing this morning, readying myself for my last ever internationl competition next week when this fucking grommet decided to drop in on me. No big deal there but the stupid Barney then wiped out and his board flew at me. Now I've 19 stitches in my leg!
Thats not to bad but the frigging doctor has told me because of the would he needed to use soluable stutures and not to get them wet for 2 weeks.
I am due in the water at 9.20am Friday for my 1st heat :cry: :cry: :cry:
The weather forcast was favourable for up to 10ft surf and after seeing the draw I was reasonably confident of at least making the quarterfinals and since I'm now fitter than I've been in the last 10 years I was pumped to finish in a blaze of glory or else go out like Patrick Swayze in Point Break at the same beach if conditions deteriorated to favour me, but it is now apparent that the bell won't toll for me
So I now sadly announce my retirement from all internationl events - unless I'm again invited to attend the Eddie Aikau memorial held during December at Wiamea Bay if the waves are above 20ft
On the bright side SeeSeaRyder, who wasn't going to the event is now coming to apply her nursing skillz to my injuries over Easter :D
The bitch will prolly go surfing every day and come home and say "You should have been there"

sorry to hear about your accident. Well at least it's wasn't a more serious injury.
Hope you get invited to that december event. Everyone deserves a last hurrah.

they should have a seperate section for the muppets to surf in...oh well like you said,

tnx 4 the suggestion, I'm waiting for a mate thats a surgeon to ring to see if he can make any suggestions. I'm willing to try anything that won't lead to an infection as long as I've got enuff flexability in the leg

Maybe it's a good thing....someone at GG posted a news article about a man (or woman...can't remember) being eaten by a huge shark in Australia.

another got taken yesterday but he was diving and it was a few thousands of miles away.
Sharks have never worried me I figure if they are gonna get me so be it but there is more chance of getting hit by a truck

it is a part of the traditional chinese medicine, i dont know how much it will help, but you can have a try,

it means the doctor presses some specific places of the body near the injury site.
i think its mechanism is to improve the blood circulation nearby. it may seem useless by the mechanism but it works well usually.

however i dont think it will heip much for an open wound, you have to debride the wound before further treatment

yeah, well it's all sewn up and my docs can't come up with a reliable way not to melt the stitches so I'm now resigned to my fate

there was a deck hand that got taken off the coast of W.A this week. some people said the shark was about 6 metres long

back on topic for a minute.
If I had laid my hands on the arsewhole that damaged my leg today I'd have stuck his board where it belonged
We were given an intense offshore low overnight and today the waves were up to 20ft at my favourite local bigwave spot. All I could do was sit on the rocks drinking beer :cry: :cry: :cry:

cut open the beer cans and glue them together and seal it with silastic and see if its water proof
