I share the storage room with the classroom next to mine....that's what makes it soooo much better.....the CHANCE of getting caught


Here's what my pod kinda looks like....of course the classrooms are the same size, but it was hard to get it just right. We have 4 pods like this, mine is upstairs.

oh, and just to clarify....we never do it if any of the kids are in either of the classroom.

One of our gym days is at the same time...so, the kids are all gone at that time. But one time, the teacher in the other room was in there...we could hear her turning pages

you should try the confinement room, isn't it soundproofed?

NO...the confinement room is where we put the kids when they are so completely out of control that a physical restraint could harm them or the staff restraining them.

It's just a brick room, with a metal door with a small window so we can watch the kids while in it....and the door is controlled by huge magnetic strips activated when we hold a large button down.

we've never had padded cells where I work....could be because it's not a psych hospital, but rather a residential treatment facility. We also cannot use manual restraints.

it was just barebones until a kid decided to start banging the wall with her head and got concussion and badly cut. The staff on duty at the time said they were to scared to go in to stop her. The psych ambulance took 25 minutes to arrive. So they put in the padding along with cameras and a microphone.
Since some of the staff decided to turn down the volume it's now under lock and key, teh missus has 1 of the 3 keys to it
