Pigs.
You may have heard of me - I'm an old mate of the FCF.
Just thought I'd drop back to my (not-so-old) digs to see what everyone was up to, and it appears that everything has changed radically...!
Sorry if this is old news, but what happened to ForumCulture..? Kataklysm...? Huh...?
...and on a self-interest note - I need to talk to someone about recommended accomodation in NYC.
Quick - say something...!

greets, and welcome back
The old place is still there but it's very inactive, much like Kat who we don't see much of either

Or rather pigdog?
All I know about NY housing is you can't get another apartment unless somebody dies. Then theres a feeding frenzy to get at the newly vacated digs. And you'll pay about a bajillion dollars rent a month for a glorified broom closet. ;)
Cheers radar!

that only confirms my belief that mankind will ferment anything to have a drink.
Has there ever been a culture discovered that doesn't have some variant of local home brew? I'm sure even the Inuits have discovered a way to turn snow into booze :D

Hmmmmm.........
If there was any snow nearby I'd give it a try.
Fermenting stuff, to me, is a sign of divine influence upon the affairs of this miserable sphere.
Zokah is correct, just about every civilization has some kind of beverage made from a fermentation process. I think the Inuit made something from fermented salmon roe.
BLECK!
And there is a technique in Africa that uses a nut from a tree, buffalo milk and utilizes baby poop to start it a bubblin'.
BLECK!
Beligian Lambics are spontaneously fermented from wild yeast and bacteria that are indiginous and specific to areas of the country just a few miles in size. So one Lambic is different from one 50 kilometers away, they just leave the lid off the fermenter till it starts a bubbling.
Numy!
