If we would follow in what Nicola Tesla had envisioned that would not be wasted energy but merely a point to transmit energy. Tesla envisioned that particular state of electricity could be transmitted like radio waves to receivers. Instead of power lines it would be "free" energy just wating to be picked out the atmosphere.

While the coils oscillating field builds up 100's of thousands or even millions of volts, they don't pack a lot of amperage. It only takes .5 of an amp to kill your ass, but you can "play" with 500,000 volts with no problem. It was Tesla's invention you see in those pix that was the forrunner of television and the starter in your car.

They are easy to make with a neon transformer and copper tubes. heheheee.

That festival looks like a warm up to Burning Man coming up soon.

Nice pics Inky, what techniques do you use to get your shot's? maybe a 101 beginners guide would be nice, I'm trying to learn. I'm still at the point and click stage.
