The best vid program I know is Adobe Premiere. It did sorta work with qt with only the alternative player installed, I think it would work better if you had QTpro installed but when I tried that I hated the thing so I nuked it along with all the iTunes shit I was forced to install so now I have even more trouble working with QTfiles and I'm to lazy to reinstall Premiere
I'm only using v6.5 so I dunno if v7 is much different. I'm not sure if it will export in QT because I'd never want to do that. It can export to all windows media.
The other alternative might be to just get QTpro.

just been checking it out for my own purposes, is it in MP4 format?
If so MP4Cam2AVI might be what you need
have u tried NERO?
I have grown to not like Nero so much as I thought I would. I forget the program I used to have....it was much easier to work with and had more options than Nero.
Unless I'm just not finding what I need on Nero or sumpin

ZOC- ill check out the link, it is mp4 format. windows media player doesnt run it what a pain. why do these files have to be QT ??? so annoying.

yeah, the linky can convert it to .avi, I don't know of a program that can tell you the frame dimensions with MP4 but it appears that it's designed for digital TVs. So when you are playing don't nuke the originals until you make sure the final output (DVD?) hasn't cropped the frame size
IMO nero sux almost as much as realplayer so I don't use it and I've got 4 legal versions
What are you trying to do Mama?

Well, all of a sudden, when I try to burn a DVD with it, it gets half way done, then stops and says, "cannot read disk".....whatever the fuck that means. And, I deleted it and reinstalled it, and it still does the same fucking shit.

it could be to do with the buffer size or possibly the hardware install, are the 1st things that come to mind. I'm unsure if it is referring to the harddrive or the blank disc, does it reach the verification stage of the burn process.
Can you write a full data CD OK?
In the meantime I'll look around for an alternative program for you

The thing that gets me is, it's worked fine since I installed it, it just recently been saying that it cannot read the disk. I saved one of the error reports (cause it told me it can help me figure out what's wrong and possibly I can fix it)....HA.....ya, right. The fucking error report is pages and pages long, and makes no sense.
I can still burn CDs with it, just not DVDs.
As far as the "stages of burning"....it goes through the first stages (takes about an hour), then halfway through the, fuck I can't remember right now what it says, it stops and gives me the error message.

it'll convert the mp4 to avi and from there you can control it. Let me know if you need any other editing software.
BTW why aren't you using your own account? Did Ravem ban you? :D
MB: It sounds as though the hardware is installed correctly and since you can burn CDs that part of the program at least is working OK.
How much free space have you got on your C drive? If you are trying to burn a full 4.7gb DVD it might need that much free for the buffer. I've never checked that so I could be wrong. Unless you recently changed settings the swapfile size was and still should be large enuff unless you've run out of free space.
If you don't mind making another drink coaster it might be worthwhile trying to burn something much smaller onto a DVD just to ensure the program hasn't caught a bug that is stopping it

The next best thing appears to be Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5. It's not free apart from a 30day trial and sadly at this time I can't find a link that allows the extension for an indefinite period ;)
There will prolly be something in the near future http://www.smileyarena.com/emoticons/Main/Pirates/pirate05.gif
