I registered with a new nick-name for not influencing your choice, and to be free in your decision

After three years in Iraq.
After thousands of dead and injured soldiers; and still counting.
After billions of dollars spent, not on rebuilding Iraq, but on the war itself; and still counting.

One would pause for a minute and ask oneself with complete honesty;
Shall we get out of Iraq?

Consider this as a poll and vote with sincerity;
Shall we get out of Iraq?

I am always free in my opinions.

I think we need to get the damn job done, then get out.

Bomb the Sunni Triangle. Divide Iraq up into sections for each of the various factions.

Pay for the war with Iraqi oil.

Quit fighting a PC war from Washington and let the generals on the ground do what they know needs to be done.

I voted no, stay until the Iraqis are allowed to control their own destiny.
This however is an impossibilty because the only way they could achieve it is if the armed forces in place were placed soley under the command of the "elected" govt.
I would have taken the 2nd "No" option if only the goals were defined, they are as ambiguous as were the reasons for the invasion. At least as publically stated, we know it's all about who controls the oil.
Sadly "The coaltion of the willing" will be sacrificing many more in the years to come unless Dubyas replacement just walks away from it on assuming power and says "Screw the loss of face"

MamaBush
05-18-2006, 02:45 AM
ha, unfortunately, Dubya's brother may be running for presidential office with our next elections....and if a Democrat is expected to win over a fucking Bush family member, they'd better be one hell of a democrat

xen
05-18-2006, 11:46 PM
why take them out? you'll only have to send 'em back when dubya decides to invade Iran.

Or why not call them back and just shoot a 100 or so every month so it'll feel like they're in iraq liberating the poor iraqis and looks for the elusive WMDs, but still enjoying the comforts of home. I'm sure 'ol dicky won't have a problem "accidently" knocking them off every month..

The US has no business being in Iraq in the first place. but hey, they're still looking for the WMDs so the nay-sayers may be proven wrong yet...but forgive me if i don't hold my breath.

The most believable of the many excuses dubya gave was "He (Saddam) wanted to kill my daddy"

It's been shown the major winners from this are the company that Rumsfield was with before joining the govt, Texas oil concerns and the co-conspiritors in the stadium scam.

Y'all don't forget the Global agenda behind all of this.

While the exploitation of masses of low skilled workers and the obvious n w o feudal/socialism has made for some of the most ignorant debate I've ever seen in my beloved country the truth is ever more obscure. No help from a narcotic media who would rather discuss the finer points of Britny Spears baby dropping techniques
no damn doubnt about it.

but then-is strapping nail bombs on our kids and sending them out to play the antithesis?

gotta wonder about some folks silly notions especially when they consider some people to nasty to touch.

but then.. some people are too nasty to touch!

The real reason for this entire shitfight and countless millions of deaths thru the ages can be summed up in 3 letters G-O-D.
The opiate of the masses has been used to control the populace since before the start of recorded history. The Pharaohs used claim of being living gods in the earlist recorded history as did the Mayan rulers. The propaganda continues to this day - doesn't all American money have "In god we trust" printed on it, while the arabs believe "InsaAllah"(sp?) - if god wills it
If we could put all the nutcase holy men and those that even profess to believe the lie that there is a god up against the wall and shoot them the world would be better off

It's only a amtter of time before that statement is removed from the currency in order not to offend anyone.

I think it's mans selfishness and ignorance and self destructive instinct that twists God and the energy of the universe to try to conform to his own schemes.

and always fails.

Yet we see God in the lillies of the field, the power of the ocean. a stars death, a newborns face- creation, love, spiritual awareness.

not these death cults

not the power that RELIGION weilds.

not all the gold, lies, sin, hatred.

It's not God that causes this, it's man and his own agenda.

zokah

I agree with that, you don't need to nuke them all to achieve world peace.
The criteria for selecting which cities need to be hit with the biggest nukes mankind can devise is simple.
"Does this city/region have any religious significance to any sect?"
If the answer is yes then make it disappear.

My target list would commence with Jerusalem, Mecca, Medina

and just to be safe Rome along with Salt Lake city :D

One has to look at the root of fundamental Muslim hatred. Most Muslims live on earth in peace, yet out the the 14 or so conflicts on planet mutherfucker, I believe 99% of them involve Muslims who for some or other reason , can't seem to get along with their neighbors. that has NOTHING to do with the US, Israel or the West in general.

Look at the history of the Muslim, long before the notion of Zionism hard core Islam suaght to convert or kill the Infidel. In the expasions of Islam they aquired great enlightenment from many cultures that drew them away from their hating the infidel ignorance. There where times in history the Arab lived along the Jew and the Christian in peace and made advancment. It always seems to get back to the 7th and 17th century Muslim mindset. Think conquest of Persia.

No we really can't nuke them. Conventional surgical strikes are much more modern form of combat. But what happens when the Muslims take over France or Holland? they will indeed have BIG nukes (think hydrogen bombs).

Do you think they would hesitate to use them to kill the infidel?

xen
07-21-2006, 06:33 PM
well, they launched the offensive based on the fact that their soldiers were kidnapped, but after the first round of bombings, these soldiers seemed to have disappeared from
the agenda.....I guess they're just having a lot of fun bombing the shit out of lebanon.

By virtue of israel's actions and the US silent support of it, India would be well justified
to bomb pakistan into oblivion following the train bombings in mumbai last week. But the minute they launch an offensive you can bet your last pubic hair that they would be comdemned and sanctioned by the international community.

HAAA!

We have a few good booze bashes here. Once a year we have the UNLvino, wine tasting event from the university. Money goes to scholarship programs and it's operated by the food and beverage college that supplies the casino/resort industry with staff such as samaliers and such, so it's pretty serious.

We have a few other charitable type events that arnt too bad.

The true gems are the cellars in the high end resturants all over town. many of them hold some kind of fundraising event once in awhile, good eats and spirits.

Once place, Rosemarys resturant not only has a kick ass wine list and food, but they also do a beer/food pairing thats unbeliveable. The above mentioned college is also persuing greater interest in beers as part of it's curriculum, in no small part due to the organization that I belong to. We brought the BJCP (beer judge certification program) to the university and our members teach the classes. So Billy Bob enrolled in the hotel managment program gets propery schooled that good beer is NOT Coors light or some roach urine swill that cost $5 a case.

MamaBush

don't know what a "Kalishnokoff" is, but it doesn't sound good.

hell, when I taught social studies last fall, most of my kids couldn't find the continent of Africa, or the countries of Mexico, Iceland, Greenland, and knew only the state they live in and some knew Indiana and Wisconsin.

it was sooo sad. And I was teaching middle school. Interesting thing is.....they ALL wanted to learn, and did. They told me no one had ever taught them about other continents or countries.

A Kalishnokoff is the weapon of choice for the Russian and Chinese armies. AK-47

it's also the standard weapon of the bums in dirty nightshirts.

I've perused American history books and I'm flabbergasted. World War II and Vietnam took up no more than a page! No elaboration on the Revolutionary war and the events leading up to the colonies breaking from Britain. In fact I've heard the term Founding Fathers' is being dropped because it's male dominated and sounds not politically correct.

I'm amazed at how watered down and PC text books are. They go through so many special interest commitees in order to make sure any particular group is not offended.

I've heard they even have gone as far as ommiting things like mountains because some urban kids may feel disenfranchised because they never seen mountains.

they have to be gender, ethnic, food, religion, etc ambigous. THey fucking worry more about the PC than the content.

The Founding Fathers are now called The Framers.

No! the FUCKING FRAMERS are illegal Mexican labor building the crackerboard houses by the square mile all over this town, working for cheap, thus undermining the journeyman trying to feed his family who put in years to build up a trade.

zokah
08-16-2006, 02:01 AM
I thought the framers were the cops?

While I am generally a supporter of political correctness there has gotta be some commonsense used with it.

Where teh missus works they had to cancel xmas party for the kids cos it offended the muslims and they claimed the place should be non-religious
Didn't they get pissed when a couple of "christian" parents got bacon put on the menu for breakfast and stopped the serving of halal meat due to it's religious connitations

MamaBush
08-16-2006, 04:36 PM
I'm all for PC when it comes to hurting an individual or group of individuals WITH WORDS.

But, as Zokah pointed out, common sense is fucking lacking in this world.

Unfortunately, most of the DECISIONS made in schools is done by lawyers and not educators. Same with the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND bullshit....all done by lawyers, with very little to no input from the people in the trenches.

Gnome
08-16-2006, 07:08 PM
PC is the result of lack of comon sense.

When we need fucking lawyers to tell us whats palatable to everybody, that shows the depth that our cultures have disintegrated.

There is a difference between hatred and vitriol aimed at any person or group, it's another thing entirely to sugarcoat everything so everybody is caaamfortable and not offeeeeended. Every body is happy happy, everybody is equal or we will make them equal, even if that means dumbing down the smart kids so the slower kid doest feel left out.

So instead of understanding our differences, helping each other and learning to cooperate, we just allow the State to tell us whats right and whats wrong, and I've seen in a short time, just about a generation- how thats panned out.

The questions is: who do we allow to tell us whats politically correct and whats not?

zokah
08-17-2006, 01:06 AM
Most of it is actually proscribed by law.
The politicians listen to those that cry loudest and those that pay money.
So I s'pose it's the rich crybabies that define PCness

I have to say that sometimes I think the American citizens are afraid of change, be it a good change or a bad change. They'd much rather stick with the status quo since they already know what it's like, rather than learning to live with new or different ideas or ideals. Which is why I think if Dubya's brother may be the fucking contender in the next elections.

As far as Rice is concerned....she has many things going against her:

1) She's female (U.S. not ready for that)
2) She's Black (U.S. not ready for that)
3) She works under Bush (says a lot)
4) Most Blacks find her to be a sell-out (and I have to agree with that)

Gnome

Theres no damn doubt that it was a severe tactical error on her part to even be involved in the Bush cabinet, she's not stupid by any stretch, I've read two (short) biographies on her career. So my guess is she's just another souless marionette that frequents the belt way.

Americans are indeed afraid of change. bloated lifestyles full of lots of TV time.

Condi looks so good on TV playing that piano.

zokah
08-29-2006, 02:44 AM
I think being part of the cabinet was a smart move for her personally and women/coloureds in general.
She was never going to go much further because of the predjudices. A high profile coloured woman opens the way for the next to go a bit higher.
Maggie Thatcher was just in the right place at the right time, ther was no credible opposition either within her own party nor the opposition.
That the Fauklands war showed she had more balls than some men wasn't surprising either.

The senator I posted earlier was one the 1st female leaders (on a national level) that this country has had, and all were from a minor party. Too bad for them they decided to kick her to the curb

Gnome

The Falklands was somewhat unpopular, the radical Imams used it for fuel agaisnt Britains government for years. The leftist/hippies used it to espouse their viewpoints agaisnt the US, NATO and the UN here, even though the official White House position was neutrality
