we get flash floods all the time, the valley is a large drainage plain to the Colorado Basin. A typical thunder storm can unleash the fury of a few nuke bombs in a very narrow area. Being in the low areas or arroyos durring a storm is NOT advisable. And every year we have morons die because they try to cross washed out roads or kids get caught playing in the washes and diversion basins.

I pulled up to assist and the guys all yay! So I hook one end of my tow cable to the truck and tossed the other end out to him...SPLASH! told him to hook up and put the car in neutral. He's like.. you mean I have to go swimming to hook the cable? I guess he expected me to shosh out there, I sure the hell wasn't going to do the dirty work. Took him 10 minutes to find a suitable place to hook up, spashing around in the filthy water and rain while I'm sitting in the dry cab :lol:
