View Full Version : Ashes to Ashes
Well looks like both teams read the script this time and we have teh usual scenario of the Aussies kicking pommie ass....
Ponting just got out for 196 - unlucky...still aussieland are crusing at 500/6
Has Harmison ever had a worse game??
COME YOU POMS!!!!!
( anyone watch india bending over and spreading their cheeks for SA?
91 all out...sheesssh...disgusting )

meh, this series was decided when the 1st ball was bowled - it went straight to 2nd slip but it wasn't off the bat
McGrath deserved a hat-trick after Brett lee spilt some blood.
England v India sounds like they should be playing to avoid relegation
i hope England fight some fight tomorrow...Flinty and Kevin for double centuries? ;)
I just want an exciting game....gotta feel bad for ponting...4 runs short of a double. no wonder he was furious ....
Mcgrath - ageless!! *applause*

It's almost as bad as his 197 in Perth a while back.
McGrath just got a 6fer but Ponting is batting again cos Warnie went wicketless.
Maybe he thinks 445 just isn't a big enuff lead :D
i can't believe they're batting again!!! an innings defeat would surely demoralise the poms more than warnie picking up some wickets?

The next test starts on Friday, so maybe he's taking it easy on the old blokes?
I'm think now he's gonna declare @ 157. If it goes as it is that'll be with about 5 overs tonight
181 for 1 ...phew....it seems almost sadistic the abuse the aussies are putting the pommies thru...
and what's this i hear about a new nazi police regime at te gabba?? no mexican waves??? no bulges?? They're barmy'er than the barmy army...

and don't forget that was a run-out.
it was part of the strategy to take the balmy army out of it, to make it like a "home" match.
sort of kills the atmosphere tho.....like the aussies killed off england this morning.
at least they made a game of it in the second innings..oh well...
1-0 to team ponting

meh, they still didn't need to bat a 2nd time and we'd have won by an innings and 50 or so runs.
It would have been more damaging to the pom psych to put them back in and get them out for 97 rather than score 202 for 1 (by runout) and show there were no demons in the pitch
that's what i said....wait, are you being sarcy?

nah, I think it's possible that they might have drawn some confidence from the fact that they made 300+ on the 5th day against Warne.
I'm happy they didn't pick McGill for the next game, he always has trouble there, even in 1st class games. If they need another spinner they got Clark and with Clarke bowling from the other end the Poms will be really confused :D
meh i hope engerland give monty a game ....and hope stevo gets back to form...
one sided games are boring....i want a close game in the second...
hope india find their balls in time for the 3rd ODI - oh the shame of the thrashings they've been given in the first 2 games ....

India best chance is if the coach can bat and then tell the bowlers to underarm it :D
I am already thinking the next game will be a draw.
I want the series decided by the 4th match. We weren't able to get tickets for this years Sydney game cos the poms bought them all
So if it's a dead match we'll be able to get them on ebay at a reasonable price. I ain't paying $200 for a seat. The traditional 2nd day piss-up might have to die, be cremated and the remains put in a little ern :D

What a fucking great game this last test match turned out to be! And I was wrong, but after the first 4 days I still could see no other result, and the Poms started playing for it by shutting up shop and not playing their normal game (maybe they did play their normal game) so lost 9/70 off 56 overs.
The aussies got the required 168 off just 33 overs. :D
A couple of interesting bits of trivia.
The Poms now hold the record for the highest declaration after batting 1st then losing the game.
In 2 out of the last 3 games played in Adelaide there has been a double century scored and both times the player was on the losing side??????
well done aussieland...must say i am very disappointed by the poms. From a winning position on day 2 to a drawing position on day 4 to losing on day 5. The aussies were by far the better team from day 3 onwards...can't believe the 2nd innings collapse by the english....phew...and i thought india sucked...
don't see a way back for them now in the series....
