xen, your reasoning is sound and valid. Here I would have no problem with posting pics of my family. On GG there was an incident of one member posting a pic of her child and another member PS hate slogans and other such nasties onto it. It caused quite a uproar by the regulars and alot of pics were deleted.

Then when the issue of the front page was brought up, it started all over again.
You can protect your child so much that they become lost in the real world by not knowing what it's really like out there.

Over at GG....the main attraction is the PORN and GORE......at this place, it's much different. And remember Larry, I wouldn't even post my face at GG until I had been there for a year.....too many nasty vile and mean members over there....while many end up being like family...the few who fuck with people make it so you have to worry about ANY pic you post over there.


This place is more down to earth and family oriented....while we can post porn, it's not the extremely PERVERTED stuff that members here are looking for, whereas at GG, the grosser the porn the more people tend to like it....same as the nasty ass gore that I still can't bring myself to look at.

For some fucking odd reason, it's hard as hell to ban someone at GG....UNLESS they post child porn.....most other shit simply gets a warning.

We have rules, but they tend to be overlooked quite often, or are just a bit too vague to enforce....and when you do enforce them, you get a whole group of members pissing and moaning about someone getting a warning or being banned.

Like right now, I'm getting so tired of the racial slurs at GG, we have a VAGUE rule of persistent racial slurs ending up in a warning....but, what constitutes PERSISTENT???



Then we have the STALKERS who come in to harrass certain female members, or this one HACK who keeps getting banned and coming back constantly just to stir shit up.

Needless to say, we mods end up being very busy sometimes......feel like a fucking babysitter sometimes too....oh well, part of the job at a gore porn site I guess. Overall, I like GG a lot, but I've also been there for quite a while and have watched some members grow up and mature with time, and some who just kinda have melt downs and start all kinds of shit that is not like them.



BUT.....this place feels much more family like, more relaxed and accepting of others..... I LIKE IT HERE, I REALLY REALLY DO

trust me, many of us wanted a "no racist comments" rule....but, we got voted down.

One thing I will say, those who have been going on a rampage with the racists comments have helped me realize just where they stand and what their attitude is like about other races......which in turn makes me realize just who to like and who to just ignore.....

I was raised in a multicultural area (before the term was even invented) and racial vilification was the accepted norm (much like today where an afro-american can call another "nigga") and everyone was proud of their race and in reality we ingnored the various backgrounds. 1 football season I recall we had 8 different racial backgrounds out of 15 people (9 if you count 2 different tribes of aboriginals)
We decided in the preseason to use it to our advantage and use derogatory racial names to call our set moves - 1 ref threatened to send me off for calling "get the black bastard" twice during a game :D - it was a move where the 2 aboriginals and a Maroi ran decoy movements and our Irish winger usually scored for us
But these days I try and take care to avoid slipping back to my roots, except when it's a necessary ploy cos it's usually effective.
However in an electronic enviroment it is never effective cos if you "argue on the internet you win the prize"

I for whatever reason don't have the sports gene. I like to watch various sports but I just don't click with the true fanatics. For example what appears to be a complete mania with most of my co workers is March Madness college B ball. I could give a shit. I tend to prefer sports that arnt populated with overpaid showboaters. Cycling, some motor sports (the only ones having any fun it seems is the ones driving) outdoors sports and the like.

I have tended to pick up a liking for hockey last few years. Not AMerican and kinda far away from the Desert. We do have a local hockey team, the Las Vegas Wranglers.

But it's nice to get out every now and then, get a hot dog and a beer and scream at the players.
