i eat beef about every two or three weeks. turkey or fish most days. tons of salad, pita or tortilla, humus, only cheese I eat is feta or goat cheese. soy milk. lots of veggies and fruit. My breakfast of choice anymore is sliced apple and peanut butter and green tea.

I did very good on my ACT. Math was dismal but for comprehension and science I went big time. Placed me in 'creative' type fields.

They gave us the SATs when I was in highschool....but, the only kids who took the test then were kids planning on going to college. Plus, we had to pay for taking the test out of our own pocket.

Now days, ALL KIDS in highschool have to take the ACTs....well, at least here in Illinois they do. Hell, even the severely disadvantaged kids have to take it, which is just dumb and a waste of tax-payers money, since taxes pay for the test now days.

I had to pay for mine. When I took the ACT it was an alternative to the SAT for some schools. I had thought that if I got lucky I could have attended NAU or UNLV.

never heard of that one.....I simply took the PSATs in my junior year, and the SATs in my senior year.


I just looked it up....that's simply a career test, to see what areas you have strengths in. I would say it would be used mainly for those contemplating tech school.

I was talking with one of my supervisors on Thursday about this very thing. He's been there for years and years, his father used to be the president of the agency. He said he's so tired of having to be so gentle with the fuckup staff, that the PC shit about not pointing out the weaknesses of other staff is ridiculous...and the calling in and chewing out the staff who bust their asses is downright ignorant.

He'd like to see more praise for those of us who bust our asses, and more chewing outs of those staff who are simply there for the paychecks.

Needless to say, he's working on his Master's in Social Work, and said he'll be leaving the agency once he's done with school. That's sad, especially since he's been there for twenty something years, is one of the best supervisors we have, and knows his shit.

another one of my supervisors, the one who PUSHED me into teaching years ago, when I was only a TA, is aware of my abilities, and has given me some of the worst kids over the years to deal with....always telling me to DEAL WITH THEM THE WAY I KNOW YOU'RE GOOD AT....just don't get caught by those who are more sensitive and don't understand that sometimes you have to speak the kids' language to get them to do what is needed and to bond with them.

however, he's the same supervisor who calls me in to his office the most for not being PATIENT with the stupid staff....pffttt!
