Just got back last night from a short break away with my family up to Yorkshire which is about 150 miles away from where I live, it's a cool interesting county with lot's of interesting places to visit, one of which is Whitby, a small fishing town which is where Dracula was purported to have landed when he came to england. (According to Bram Stoker, who wrote the book,).
Anyhoo, here's a couple of pics.

It were bloody freezing, those pics don't really show it, but there was a 30/40 mile an hour wind coming off the sea at times. Still, nice fish and chips there!

the best for your colesterol count
hey that ain't authentic english fish n chips...the authentic variety comes wrapped in newspaper so you have something to read while you eat and something to wipe your hands with when you're done.
nice pics stanley :)

They are authentic if you sit in an authentic old fashoined fish and chip restaurant where you get bread and butter and a cup of tea with it though.:)

its even more authentic when you head off to a pebble stoned beach when the suns out, in the freezing cold (and its supposed to be summer) , get there and it pours with rain, so you have to find a fresh fish shop, buy a fillet of cod or snapper, find a chip shop who then prepare your fish and cook you some fat chippies and wrap them all in the Times, then go sit in the car to eat it all...Oh!! and dont for get the salt and vinegar!!! VERY IMPORTANTO!!!
YUMMY!!!!!!!!!

too cold for seagulls in the UK but the weather is just right for plenty of pigeons
hehe..that's not tartar sauce you're dipping your fish and chips in stanley :D
wutangstan

A: we got tons of seagulls
B: no one does them in newspaper anymore, EU regulations
C: Don't use tartare sauce on fish and chips tommy ketchup, salt and vinegar only.
And the fish and chips are so good at this place, they queue up outside, even in the middle of winter on one of the coldest days of the year! (pic).

You would nearly be right in your assumption that it's a toon chippie, but the name and colour owes itself to the bird, not the (*spit) football team, but just to be on the safe side I pissed on the floor in the toilet.
hehe..well done stanley...hope shearer visits the chippie and slips on the pee soaked toilet floor and is ruled out of sunday's game against teh spurs.
