christmas is too commercialised and all the large department stores rort the weary shopper with price increases
MamaBush
12-15-2007, 05:46 PM
funny, since the stores around here aren't doing so well this Christmas...they've all lowered their prices.
Gnome, I'm almost done shopping...I still have to get my grandson savings bonds.
I got the "man" three shirts (his are all so old) and a bullet press thingamabob...you know, where he can load his own handgun bullets. It's something he said he wanted months ago...so, I figured I'd surprise him by getting him one.

sweet! I'm not certain but there has to be a Cabellas or such out that ways. I get serious wood when I go into the Bass Pro shop here in The Desert. OMG they got ROWS of reload shit!
Reloading is an art and a science.
How long does it take to get those bonds Mama, cuz I was thinking about ordering for my sisters kid but Im thinking it wont show up on time.
Looks like the global economy is slowing in some places. And how the fuck does daterape chemicals get on a childs toy for fucks sake? Yea it's disgustingly commercialized Wannabe, it's fine to gets the kids the latest gear, but do we lose sight of the true meanings and all that jive.

I know...but, they should.
I used to buy savings bonds for my daughter every year for Christmas...she ended up cashing them in when she turned 18.
but...I kept one that she doesn't know about. She can get it and cash it in when I die. I looked up it's value a few months ago, and, it's up to $156...which aint bad since I only paid $50 for the $100 savings bond.

I got mine done too, got a baby on the way ^_^
I had one gallery showing and I have TWO slated for the first part of 08, which means I better finish up some of these works!
Just last month they ultrasounded my thyroid and found a node on it, still have yet to find out what it is. Hopefully it's not something ignorant! I have so much stuff to do the next bunch of years. We need to look for a bigger house, and with the market here being what it is thats gonna be a chore.
Will probably bring in the new year playing board (bored) games with some friends and I need to make a batch of saurkraut for good luck.
cheers!

I can't wait for my grandson to get to the toddler stage. He's already a riot with one hell of a strong personality....give him another year to build on what he already has and I'm gonna have a fucking blast with him.
He's gonna be my travel buddy too...when he gets a bit older than two. I've never traveled due to always being poor. Now I make a good living and can travel...I want to teach him about the world, all its cultures and peoples....but, I want him to experience it all first hand.

Gnome, you are so right on target.
and, the older I get, the more I think and dream of asses, chests, shoulders, thighs, and dicks. *sighs*
had a long convo with "D" last night. He was asking me if I've ever wanted what we have to go further than it has...a "regular relationship." Cause he's thought of it quite often through the four years we've been together.
I told him, "To be very honest (which I always am with him), YES. But, I'd be too afraid of losing what we have if we put 'committment' into our formula."
why is life so difficult? "D" is the only man in my long life that I completely "click" with...even though he was born the day I graduated highschool, we seem to be on the same fucking mental plane. That is one man I'll never stop loving, and he feels the same about me.
ahhhhh....LIFE....aint it grand?
and, "R" the guy I've been seeing for a little over a year, is boring me to death. He has no ambition, no drive, no ooomph. For someone who's only 2 years older than I am...he acts like he's in his 80's...and I done told him that too. I told him to stop being so damned OLD and live life a little. *sighs*
Gnome
06-14-2008, 07:30 AM
I think once I lose my ambition then they can smack me in the head with the battering ram and hang me on a hook. Life is precious and short. Theres not enough time to do the things that are worthwhile. Ahh to hike the Muir trail, travel Europe and Africa.
Read.
walk in the sun. Visit the park and sit and watch people. Learn great guitar ability.

Comitment can be scary for some, it really gets down to what you want, what he wants. But then, you are both already commited-

We are secrets to each other
Each one's life a novel
No-one else has read.
Even joined in bonds of love,
We're linked to one another
By such slender threads.
We are planets to each other,
Drifting in our orbits
To a brief eclipse.
Each of us a world apart,
Alone and yet together,
Like two passing ships.
Just between us,
I think it's time for us to recognize
The differences we sometimes fear to show.
Just between us,
I think it's time for us to realize
The spaces in between
Leave room for you and I to grow.
We are strangers to each other,
Full of sliding panels,
An illusion show.
Acting well-rehearsed routines
Or playing from the heart?
It's hard for one to know.
We are islands to each other,
Building hopeful bridges
On a troubled sea.
Some are burned or swept away,
Some we would not choose,
But we're not always free.
